Saint Michael Services, SMAT Training Partner for Switzerland and Italy, is organising the first Italian edition of the SMAT ECPO™ – European Close Protection Officer.it Advanced Certificate Course.

Hosted at the TGO Training Center and internationally certified by The Security Institute of Ireland (SII), the ECPO™ programme combines online theoretical preparation with intensive in-person practical training.

The hybrid format allows the 6 days in Italy to focus primarily on practical training, operational exercises and realistic close protection scenarios.

Practical Training

The in-person phase focuses primarily on practical close protection skills and operational procedures, including:

• Close protection principles, procedures and communications
• On-foot escort – solo and team
• Vehicle escort
• Route and venue planning and reconnaissance
• Vehicle and room search
• High operational tempo practical scenarios

Hybrid Training Format

The mandatory theoretical component is completed online before arrival in Italy.

Participants then complete 6 days of intensive in-person practical training at the TGO Training Center.

The final ECPO™ examination is completed online on the last day of the course.

International Certification

Successful participants receive the:

SMAT ECPO™ – European Close Protection Officer.it

Internationally certified by The Security Institute of Ireland (SII).
