October 2026 Session – Organised only after TECR for CBRN®
SMAT Training is organising a HEAT – Hostile Environment Awareness Training module in Rio, Brazil, as part of the Brazil pilot training programme.
This HEAT module is designed to provide participants with essential awareness, preparation and personal safety skills for operating, travelling or working in potentially unstable, degraded or high-risk environments.
⚠️ Important: this HEAT session is not organised as a standalone deployment.
It will only take place in direct continuity with the TECR for CBRN® Brazil training scheduled during the previous three days.
Programme Overview
The HEAT module focuses on practical awareness and risk reduction for people who may be exposed to complex, unstable or unfamiliar environments.
The programme may include:
- hostile environment awareness;
- personal safety principles;
- situational awareness;
- travel safety;
- risk identification and prevention;
- behaviour and communication in sensitive environments;
- basic crisis response principles;
- decision-making under stress;
- preparation before deployment or travel;
- practical exercises and scenario-based learning.
⚠️ Practical and Accessible Approach
HEAT is not designed only for military or tactical personnel.
This training is also intended for civilians, professionals, organisations, NGOs, companies, medical teams, security staff and individuals who need to better understand potential dangers and adopt safer behaviours in complex environments.
The objective is to help participants:
- recognise risks earlier;
- avoid unnecessary exposure;
- understand how situations can deteriorate;
- react more appropriately under pressure;
- improve personal and team safety;
- develop practical awareness before travelling or working in sensitive areas.
💶 Fee
€740 per participant
This fee applies to the Brazil pilot session.
Accommodation is not included.

This module follows the TECR for CBRN® Brazil training scheduled from 16 to 18 October 2026.

Professional certification issued within the framework of the partnership with the Security Institute of Ireland (SII).
Important Organisation Conditions
The HEAT module can only be organised in direct continuity with the TECR for CBRN® Brazil training.
SMAT will not travel to Brazil solely to deliver a standalone HEAT course.
The HEAT module requires a minimum of 10 confirmed, registered and paid participants.
If the TECR for CBRN® Brazil training does not take place, the HEAT module will not be organised as an independent session.
